Trucking industry performing better than overall economy

Posted by Genie Wood on Mon, Dec 19, 2011 @ 11:32 PM

Although the overall economy is still struggling, the trucking industry is performing exceptionally well.

Privately owned freight companies have reported an increase of 14 percent in sales since 2010. This increase in revenue is compared to the overall ecomony which is reporting a raise in sales but only by the single digits.

Two different factors have contributed to the success of the trucking industry for the 2011 fiscal year. One of those contributing factors regards the leveling of gas prices across the United States. The second factor deals with the elevated amount of manufacturing taking place, which has helped with the reconstruction of volume in the industry.
