Enforcement Difficult for Officials

Posted by Genie Wood on Mon, Feb 08, 2010 @ 06:53 AM

Officials say that enforcing bylaws with regard to transport trucks will not be easy.

Some bylaws simply deal with trucks not being allowed to drive on certain roads, which is somewhat easily monitored.

The situation gets more complicated, however, when the laws deal with things an officer cannot know by simply looking at the truck. Police cannot stop every truck that drives by.

For now, police are having to rely on calls from other drivers on the road reporting suspicious behavior or dangerous situations.

When trucking companies educate their employees on safety and regulations, incidents can be prevented.
