The White House has set aside $476 billion of its 2013 fiscal budget in order to address major transportation issues across the United States. This large amount of money would go towards highway and bridge construction projects.

The outline of the budget shows that the projects will span out until the year 2018. In the 2013 fiscal year, the U.S. budget allows for a two percent increase of funding for the Department of Transportation. They will receive $74 billion in 2013.

The President of the United States has proposed that in 2012, $50 billion be distributed in order to improve the highways and roads in our country. The budget will be more critically analyzed during the election campaigns in the fall.
