UPS Inc. has added 200 hybrid electric delivery trucks to fleets in eight U.S. cities, the company announced Tuesday. The 200 new trucks were added to the 20,000 alternative fuel and low-emission vehicles already in the carrier's fleet.
The company hopes to reduce the amount of carbon dioxide released and the amount of fuel consumption compared to conventional diesel trucks. The new trucks look identical to the company's other trucks, officials say.
