Commercial truck and bus drivers are using their safety belts more than in the past, according to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration in a statement made Friday. Today, 74 percent of these drivers use safety belts, compared to 65 percent in 2007.
The group took a survey of more than 20,000 commercial drivers at more than 800 roadside sites around the nation. The group hopes to keep encouraging the use of safety belts until every driver consistently uses a safety belt.
