Cost of Diesel Still Climbs

Posted by Genie Wood on Wed, Mar 10, 2010 @ 12:59 AM

The Department of Energy predicts that the cost of diesel will rise to nearly $3 per gallon this year, and more than $3 next year. The Department made these projected increases based on the rising cost of crude oil per barrel.

Both diesel and gasoline saw a jump in cost over the last three weeks. Gas averaged near $2.75. The department expects it to rise to an average of $2.84 this year, up from $2.35 last year. This is similar to a previous forecast made by the Department of Energy.
