The federal court ruled on the Port of Los Angeles clean trucks plan, but it will not really affect a ruling from a lower court regarding the port. The lower ruling says that the port must not implement most of the port's concession requirements temporarily, according to American Trucking Associations.
The new ruling allows the port to enforce motor vehicle safety rules. The port had wanted to only allow drivers who were employees of trucking companies, but owner-operators could continue operating at the port. The dispute surrounding the issue is scheduled for trial in mid-March.
